Thank you, James Geddes..........''You say so much without detailing a thing!''
From my archives, with thanks always, for your depth of knowing:::''Black and white, clarity and obscurity, the great contrast...the static..the depth of white and its absolute silence...all its random possibilities...the nothingness of black without possibilities...the eternal silence without hope...death....together it's grey...no active force...immobility without hope...tends to despair when dark...hope when it lightens...the vessels of our deepest thoughts...the vessels to the abyss of our reflections.........fabulous work!!!! Omar Hafidi.''

Thank you so much, dear Nancy. Your lovely thoughts, gave me pause to think...in relation to my 'time of life' and that I look back, too, and when I'm browsing my files, I find these comments that I treasured so much, then, and now.....so, I feel the need to post them, in honour.....(I don't hear from Omar any more:: he seems to not upload, I know why but it's private to him.....but/so: when I find his comments especially, I raise them up again. xxV.

Thomas Pollart
Pretty sure this is Edouard Manet's, famous painting of the prostitute Olympia, his 1865 Paris Salon, after the naked Olympia, her orchid in her hair, her bracelet, the pearl earrings, the black ribbon around her neck, the cast off slipper & the oriental shawl which she laid on & her fully clothed maid have all gone home for the evening, after a very long day of modeling & painting ? +++fav

Your fertile, educated mind/guess could be right, Thomas...we DO channel all we've seen and know....to clarify for you, this is an excerpt from my original painting, here on faa.... https://fineartamerica.com/featured/billowing-at-midnight-viva-anderson.html .. but to be mentioned in the same breath as Manet, makes me proud somehow...Thank you ..VIVA
