Thanks, John. What you say gives me chills, and am honoured by your visit and your thoughts to me about this, and, to this day, yes: unfathomable! 'man's inhumanity towards man".......and/but, I've know also 'silences' so personal, this resonated for me, on that small scale of one's heart and soul....silences profound have made an enormous difference in my life, hence the quote, as with most of my posts/quotes. It's wonderful to be visited and that you care to share! Thank You so much, VIVA.

Very true, VIVA! Just as true today as it was in Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. People have short memories or they just can’t fathom. LF

I agree with premise; even to the extent that 'simplifying' appears to be a human necessity when we realize the immensity of the complex we are part of. Though it is true since the earliest of times, it, in modern times, is apt to register in B&W - be it drawing or photo - where the limit of palette announces the human necessity to abstract...So I wonder what our next vision of 'reconstruction' might appear as, after we exhaust our de-constructive quest?...Limited color attracts introspect and imaginal probing - at least it appears to...and so I agree.
VIVA Anderson replied:
Terrance, great thoughts on the 'way' I find through seeking essence, clarity, depth, all...through simplifying. One must be brave enough to do that, the revelations that occur are deep insight into the Artist's soul, once the quest is met. Stimulating always to talk with you. Thank you so much...VIVA

Privation!...much overlooked yet we utilize it...even when we neglect its importance and do not recognize its power; IMO, art is as much about this option, as placing modulating colors in proximity to each other; or choosing an idea over a person...Great thought VIVA. tdp
VIVA Anderson replied:
Terrance, thank you for your thoughts and response to this premise, and as it relates to making art....though I do much colourful work, I am also much dedicated to 'limited palette' as a way of speaking/breaking the silence by virtue of 'simplifying' - not easy, but so effective, depending on the subject..VIVA

we musicians say "no music without stanza" and that is so true, so is this - same feel of truthfulness
