Old Spades,still-life, b-w photography, by VIVA Anderson.“Sometimes we have to soak ourselves in the tears and fears of the past to water our future gardens.” ― Suzy Kassem. Ⓒ.
In my Photography collection.
This is my capture of the trusty garden spades,as stored/hanging inside the garden shed, awaiting their moment to dig, plant, give hope.Their age is testimony of a life well spent furthering the tending of the earth. These I found in the shed at the family farm,
in "country New South Wales' near YOUNG, farming district.
I AM NOT OLD........
I am not old…she said.
I am rare.
I am the standing ovation
At the end of the play.
I am the retrospective
Of my life as art.
I am the hours
Connected like dots
Into good sense.
I am the fullness
Of existing.
You think I am waiting to die…
But I am waiting to be found.
I am a treasure.
I am a map.
And these wrinkles are
Imprints of my journey.
Ask me anything.

Hi VIVA~~I really like your monochrome image of the old (well-used) garden spades! Just imagine all of the many hours of work they have seen- well not literally, and the many hours of interesting conversations that may have swirled around them when being used as you said, "Furthering the tending of the earth." Love this and sending my Very Best for each day going forward! Sincerely, Will. F&L
VIVA Anderson replied:
Dear Will, thank you from my 'artist's' heart. I so appreciated your so thoughtful response to this "Furthering the tending of the earth" and your love of this affirms my hopes here. I wish you well, fulfillment, peace,:)🙏VIVA::with deepest gratitude to you, my Friend.

The image is striking, but the description is wonderful, VIVA! it must be read to understand the photography as art!

You continue to amaze me - taking the ordinary - THE MASTER of BW strikes again! Just stunning.

I am struck by how striking this photo is and how much it takes on an abstract composition. Something old made new again! Bravo VIVA!

"...I am rare. / I am the standing ovation..." - each different from the next, we few who band together, yet have significance that we represent 'tools in a shed' still ready to preform! 'Old spades', perhaps. But certainly vibrant! Another image that testifies to the 'functioning' of wisdom... in any time. 'I AM NOT OLD' either! -tdp
VIVA Anderson replied:
Terrance, I am so touched by YOUR thoughts, response, simpatico! WE will NEVER be OLD ! and WE , who are significant TO EACHOTHER!......I admire your always erudite , thoughtful responses , especially!! THANK you, brother in ART !..........VIVA
