"Rear Window" Poetry by Maria Disley
Shadow Window 3
Shadows make wood bend
Deceive the eye
Wake the mind
To question
Mankind.

Shadow Window 2
I'm on a Monet stream,
There's a small sail, so slow, it almost stops
But refrains
In the shade of a dripping willow,
Whose delicate leaves dabble with the purling ripple
To stir the lilac lilies.
Who dares move that oar,
To break the silence,
To billow the curtain at the window?
No body dares,
And nobody cares,
For the moment to spoil
As Monet dips his brush in oil.
Maria Disley 7/8/14
Whoever said that is so wrong Viv, and I'm not saying that to be nice. The composition is exquisite!
Shadow Window
In this Serene place
There's some veiled embrace
That summons me
That comforts me assuringly
Swathes me in the softest of shadows, so sheer
Am I levitating?
I waver in the half light of absence
Like some dark Heathcliff catching sight of Cathy...
And beginning again.
The little boat of a latch,
The Cinderella shoe,
The curved back of a master craftsman' chair
This image takes me everywhere
In its ephemeral waves of a dream
In its anticipation of a rising sun
In its want of a new day and
The break; through the window, of dawn.
Maria Disley 7/8/14
I am so honoured by your poetry, Maria....Thank You.

Here, my minimalism response to LIGHT !, its ESSENCE, how its shadows tell 'the story', through the window shade ! 13/08/2022 And, here, too, The Description, the poetry by Maria Disley, her wonderful response to the Art. I am so honoured, and thank you from my soul, dear Maria. It is thrilling!!!! as an Artist, to have Poetry written in response to one's Art!!

Great image, VIVA! Very simple, but I am still trying to figure out exactly what I am looking at . . . in addition to a really cool minimal abstract composition! . . .fv
VIVA Anderson replied:
Karen, thank you, as always. FYI...lol, what you’re looking at is a shadow. It intrigued me. The light is backlight, hence the shadow. It is the window shade, the window lock shadow, askew...minimalism thanks to the sunshine. VIVA

VIVA Anderson replied:
This has become a Series, different 'feel' for each.....because I love the minimalism and how it lends itself to 'impressions', depending on colours, and I love the backlit forms as shapes.......series soon........V.
