The Bench and The Blackbird...by VIVA Anderson, capturing lift-offffff, wow.
'Know that when Raven appears that magic is imminent. Raven is about rebirth, recovery, renewal recycling and certainly reflection and healing. He signifies moving through transitions smoothly by casting light into the darkness''
How lucky to capture this moment of take-off! Just look closely at his balance, wow..................Taken at a local beach, North Shore, Sydney.,Australia
And, Thank you for this most poetic beautiful comment,
Bob Orsillo..::::::
"There is something about that pose that describes the universe!"
The Blackbird-Ronald Stuart Thomas:
'It seems wrong that out of this bird,
Black, bold, a suggestion of dark
Places about it, there yet should come
Such rich music, as though the notes'
Ore were changed to a rare metal
At one touch of that bright bill.'

Blackbird Symbol
A medieval book called a Bestiary had allegorical descriptions of real and fabled animals including the Blackbird. These books were often full of symbolism and contained a moral or religious lesson or allegory. A Bestiary reflected the belief that the world itself was the Word of God, and that every living creature had its own special meaning. The Aberdeen Bestiary which was written in the 12th Century contains the following information regarding the blackbird as a religious symbol:
~The blackbird represents those who are tempted by carnal pleasures.
~The blackbird in flight represents the temptation to desire
~A white blackbird represents purity of will
~To reject the desire symbolized by the blackbird, you must discipline yourself and thus rid yourself of pleasures of the mind by inflicting pain on your flesh

''Bench''
''Come sit with me on the bench,
In the mid-winter summer bliss,
And walk on the back like a balance beam,
And tell me things it never seems
That you'd tell anyone but me.''

As if facing into the wind, hope stares beyond the moment atop a perch facing the sea-of-time, calmly ebbing and flowing by the spirit scenting our vision and lapping in our ear... How peaceful! -tdp
