Description
VIVA age 7. Posing, lol........brown highcut shoes, sloppy socks, green plaid dress with shiny buttons, beautiful pearl hair slide....all dressed up for a visit to my friend Kitty, next door........I wonder if she remembers me? I will never forget the day.
Can't imagine who took the photo, though........but, thank you...it sat in a big box that my father Joe carted around to wherever he lived, so long ago, in
Forest Hills, Queens, NY..........where I took violin lessons, to which I walked a mile with the $1 fee, violin under my arm, by myself !! Those were the days, my friends..........sigh. Still a coquette, still flirtatious.....and, loyal !
From my archives: 2009: "I found small beautiful smiling girl at age 7 and gave to her my vote and soul. ",,,,,,,,,,thank you, Victor Sevcheno.........

Thank you, Bijan...an excerpt from your d&m response earlier....." Franz Kafka wrote something to the effect of make a habit of being silent, and the universal wisdom will reveal itself to you freely in ecstasy. It has to. It has no choice. Mahatma Gandhi echoed the same universal truth when he wrote, "Silence is indispensable to the seeker of truth."

Thank you, Jeffery Johnson, in forum today, inviting us to share pix and cherished memories, and, am wishing you well asap from terrible 'flu. Here, my reply as posted..................... Sell Art Online This is the only picture of my childhood that survived too many removals, and that is just magic for me, because it says everything about me that I personally remember of those days........I think my neighbour, Kitty's father took the photo then , 1944 !.........and the whole day still lives in my memory......! I was something of a wild-child, and on this occasion I was so thrilled to be centre of attention, and can still remember posing, the green plaid dress, the pearl hair slide, sloppy socks, high leather tie shoes............ This photo also resided with each of my brothers, now gone, and I know not the destiny of their copies..but,. again, this photo brings together our entire family, through this memory of me, and therefore, them. And so, as a cherished gift, I dedicate this to my granddaughter, Emilie....one of three girls......for her to keep the flame of her crazy artist/grandma, who always caused a stir.....

What a sweet little girl ! You wrote that you wonder whence words come from. Here's something to think about. There are few things in life I'm sure of except for this : Deep in every human's hear there is an inner knower who possesses a non-intellectual, non-cerebral knowledge --- the kind of knowledge that cannot be found in books, schools, science, religion, or anywhere else. That inner knower is the source of infinitely vast, immeasurably rich wisdom. It is the knowledge that is best accessed in silence and meditation. That's why Franz Kafka wrote something to the effect of make a habit of being silent, and the universal wisdom will reveal itself to you freely in ecstasy. It has to. It has no choice. Mahatma Gandhi echoed the same universal truth when he wrote, "Silence is indispensable to the seeker of truth."
VIVA Anderson replied:
Thank you, dear Bijan, for your lovely insight, for your response to my own musings, for your compliment on my photo, and for your depth of understanding about our meditative outpourings that occur, if fortunate and wise, to our innermost 'knowing', evinced by your readings of the masters' 'knowing' from whence inspiration does occur....At one time, years ago here, another like yourself, so insightful, responded to my Art uniquely , after meditative silences......he was, then, still, my 'seer' and my 'sayer' ... it is an honour when one such is so in touch , as are you......thank you so very much for caring enough to know and affirm.........so rare from another who 'sees' and 'says'.........VIVA
