Description
WARP WEFT - PROGRESS, by VIVA Anderson, abstract, political art, an unravelling,...in homage to The Luddites -
The Luddites were 19th-century English textile workers (or self-employed weavers who feared the end of their trade) who protested against newly developed labour-economizing technologies, primarily between 1811 and 1816. The stocking frames, spinning frames and power looms introduced during the Industrial Revolution threatened to replace them with less-skilled, low-wage labourers, leaving them without work. The Luddite movement culminated in a region-wide rebellion in Northwestern England that required a massive deployment of military force to suppress. WIKI

"Wonderful 3D effect! fv vote"
"Such beauty and elegance! The tones of brown are so well placed, the cloth reveals a plaid feeling which is homespun and honest and do I see a face looking sweetly to the right? Such a nice gift for Lenore! v/f ++++ and for Lenore! v
"This is Amazing! I love the rich browns, the geometric shapes, the contrast between transparent and not transparent in this marvelous work. I love the touches of variation in the browns as the light hits it. As usual, a masterpiece. v/f and pin with acknowledgments! Thank you, thank you for the dedication." from Lenore
Dean Harte:" wonderful shapes, colours and textures, and a total that definitely exceeds the part of the sums. V/F"
Lois Bryan:" Viv, this is so beautiful ... deceptive simplicity ... but when you look closer, there's such detail and nuance in the "fabric" ... powerful ... I love it ... l/a"
