Description
"Where Oceans Meet", abstract painting,by VItVA Anderson, celebrates where the raging
mighty blue Atlantic meets the mighty turquoise Indian ocean, at the
Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. This is an infamous, treacherous passage, full of
danger and drama. Many a sailor has written their lament of
surviving this wild place. Many did not survive............RIP.
The beauty, too, is the blue Atlantic and the transluscent
turquoise Indian Oceans swirling, reflecting their colours, wildly.
My enhancement here, is of the painting, from my archives,
from that time, when I 'stayed' in Africa, loved, learned of its magic,
the moonlight, so effervescent.
John Masefield, British poet, 1878-1967.
"Rounding The Horn"
an excerpt.... (From "Dauber")
"Roaring from nether hell and filled with ice,
Roaring and crashing on the jerking stage,
An utter bridle given to utter vice,
Limitless power mad with endless rage
Withering the soul; a minute seemed an age.
He clutched and hacked at ropes, at rags of sail,
Thinking that comfort was a fairy tale,
Told long ago—long, long ago—long since
Heard of in other lives—imagined, dreamed—
There where the basest beggar was a prince.
To him in torment where the tempest screamed,
Comfort and warmth and ease no longer seemed
Things that a man could know; soul, body, brain,
Knew nothing but the wind, the cold, the pain."

Dear VIVA, I love your remasters of your Masters, my friend. Keep the Light …FLOWing…As I lose my ability to work with one medium …another opportunity enters. We cannot lose onto yesterday…only today’s brightest point! Gorgeous!..LF

Dear VIVA...I do not swim, having almost been drowned by a cousin;...however, I have ALWAYS LOVED the ocean...her colours, moods, Peacefulnesses, Playfulness and RAGES. I have been tossed by her Power in eight hurricanes, have listened to her song run to greet me on sanded strips where I walked with seashells and once tasted the blackened depths until...I learned how to breathe under water...MAGNIFICENT confluence!..LF
VIVA Anderson replied:
My dear Laurel, Thank You! Thank you for your so personal response, and that we share the magic of the Sea, her depths, her beauty, her power, MAGNIFICENT, yes!, x VIVA

Very beautiful art work, VIVA. I like water and you know it. Hide mysteries and codes that one day we will know, but for now let's enjoy its great beauty.
VIVA Anderson replied:
Thanks, Quim....Yes, I know....perhaps Beauty seen is enough? Let some mysteries continue to confound us, keeping the inquisitive flowing. V
