Description
Pebbles Memories,by VIVA Anderson. My collection of natural treasures.. A trail of Rainbow Blissssss. Each a Memory of the paths I have taken.
.
'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.'..RW Emerson.
This is my still life painting of the many beautiful pebbles I have gathered on my travels, and is about the memories I have, of meaningful moments, and people I treasure. They are symbolic to me of life events experiences, and allow me peaceful contemplation of life's gifts.
I treasure my life's treasures, deeply.
'That magic moment when your life changes for the good in you.'.......JP
'Our deeds still travel with us from afar, and what we have been makes us what we are'....George Eliot
.
By means of an image we are often able to hold on to our lost belongings. But it is the desperateness of losing which picks the flowers of memory, binds the bouquet.'.....Mes Apprentissages (1936)"

I also collect rocks from places I visit. A few years ago, I started collecting small amounts of dirt as well. When I go home, I sprinkle it in my flower garden. l/f

VIVA, Wonderful description and meanful painting.I like the Emersons' poem- directive to leave a trail, where there is no path. Thats what I love about your art work,Doing what others have not thought about doing.I like the fact that you used smooth and round rocks . The smoothness express an ancient and weathered existence. And the rock roundness a complete circle of time , experience....?...... I too, collect rocks as treasured memories, Some are now collected into dry walls on my property. In Oregon,we have a sea town called ,Gold Beach. The ocean waves roll, onto the beach there and bring huge chunks of white quartz. They sometimes look like snow balls. And yes, the sand at gold beach contains gold. It just takes too much money to process / refine the gold inside of the sand. I wrote a reply to your message.F/L/V

So sentimentally painted! Each pebble contains a lot of memories. This is so special! F/L
