This is so cool. Wow! Amazing detail and texture. Love the background blue against the willowy green sprays. The little white balls and twigs just make this pop! Wonderful photo/abstract.
VIVA Anderson replied:
James, Thanks SO much! You had to be there! It was the windiest day forever, and THIS blew in, and all I could do to keep it still for the capture: So glad you like this truely beautiful Australiana!!....:))VIVA

And VIVA, the gorgeous sprig, resting as such in the soft lit setting has generated an ambiguous secondary form beneath it...as such, my first glance had me wondering if I was not being treated to a personification of Spring herself... A rare treat in nay form! Thank you for sharing! -tdp
VIVA Anderson replied:
Ohhh, Terrance, I DO see her too! And thank you so very much for your perspicacity, your edifying inspired thoughts. VIVA

A note to correct, not change, the title, because in Victoria, Australia, this tree is known as Blue Mallee...and: EUCALYPTUS POLYBRACTEA which is a dwarf variety of the Eucalyptus species .

Having spent my career in the forest products industry, I was immediately attracted to this image as I know the importance of the eucalyptus tree to Australia and its uses in the paper making industry, On warm days, eucalyptus forests are sometimes shrouded in a smog-like mist of vaporized volatile organic compounds (terpenoids); the Blue Mountains take their name from the haze. On my first visit to Sydney, I was lucky enough to visit the Blue Mountains.
VIVA Anderson replied:
Paul, that's so nice to know. We love our hazy, scented Blue Mountains. I don't travel any more, but if I did, I'd head there. Good people there, too.Always a risk of terrible fires, sigh. Glad to remind you...VIVA

Beautiful presentation of this sprig of bluegum, VIVA; I love the weave and color of the backgrond! I love the detail, fragility, strength, and texture of this image, and the gumnuts are lovely! This is a gem! l/f
